40columns Absolutely love this project. A truly rich and unique sonic experience that stands in the highest echelons of contemporary atmospheric black metal Favorite track: Entropic Collapse.

𝕃𝕖𝕖ℍ𝕒𝕣𝕧𝕖𝕪¹ This whole album should be a film score. Preferably, a dark but wonderful tale of superstition, blood, and lore. Of one man's journey through life in nature, and his struggles with fellow men to remain solitaire and free. Set in the dark ages, and filmed in black-and-white. Favorite track: River of Eternity.

flightoficarus (Metal Trenches) A beautiful, atmospheric journey delivered with plenty of the hallmarks that make the growing West Coast black metal scene so tantalizing. While I think Jay has outdone himself with the more mature 'All Too Human,' this self-titled debut is still a powerful piece of art that harnesses the power of both light and darkness. The grim vocals on "Transcendence" will cut you right to the soul. Favorite track: Transcendence.

Brit Harvey I need more of this Stat! 3 tracks of really, really good quality melodic black metal, and 2 fantastic instrumentals ... One piano and one multi layered acoustic. A perfect example of the magic of BC. Favorite track: Transcendence.

about

Press for the album:

"Swaths of grandiosity in the vein of Bathory’s classic Viking era meld with harsh vocals, gentle acoustic guitars, and an incredible sense of melody. Neige [of Alcest] should be taking notes from this lone California dreamer." - Kim Kelly, VICE

Oskoreien was included in Invisible Oranges' "Top 50 Albums of 2011": "the album [is] a delicate balance of organic atmospherics, neofolk melodies, and rawness."

"Oskoreien is essentially the solo black metal vehicle perfected... the record’s sound is just inspirational to behold." - Lurker's Path

"With its neofolk moments and intensely mournful chord progressions, I would say this stands up there with the latest Agalloch record but with a hint of Godspeed You! Black Emperor in its crushingly sad guitar crescendos." - Dead Formats

"It’s not often that I get goosebumps whilst listening to music, but listen to this on a pair of headphones and you’ll likely have the same reaction." - Scene Point Blank
